What Is CrossFit Kids?
CrossFit Kids is not simply a scaled down version of CrossFit; it is entirely and absolutely CrossFit geared toward kids and their specific developmental needs!
CrossFit Kids is the principal strength and conditioning program for many young athletes and the primary P.E. program for many home schools and charter schools. It is used by athletic teams, martial arts schools, and many parents who want their kids to grow up healthy, strong, and with a lifelong love of physical activity, helping to avoid the common problems associated with childhood inactivity and obesity. Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Healthy living requires that our kids push, pull, run, throw, climb, lift, jump, effectively and safely regardless of whether or not they play athletics. Athletics is a specialized pursuit. Our goal is to support the specialist, but reward the generalist.
The CrossFit Kids program is designed for universal scalability, making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for 4 year olds and elite high school athletes. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs. The needs of our second graders and our high school wrestler differ by degree, not kind.

About Our Program
Our CrossFit Kids program teaches proper form and mechanics in functional and athletic movements in classes that are different every day. We teach children to love fitness by placing our emphasis on FUN. Each child is instructed at his to her level, allowing each child to experience challenge and reward every class. CrossFit Kids is a great way to celebrate a child’s birthday! My daughter has been to all types of parties growing up…pool, bowling and ice skating, so when it came time for us to choose a theme for her 10th birthday party, she knew she wanted something unique and fun. I asked her if CrossFit Kids at 5th Ave would be something she would like, and it instantly became her first choice! We worked closely with the friendly and helpful staff at Reebok CrossFit 5th Ave to book a date and plan her party. The Coaches were energetic and engaging — they made sure every child was having fun.
CrossFit Kids physically prepares children for the demands of life by encompassing all ten general physical skills; strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, stamina, speed, agility, power, cardiovascular endurance, and accuracy.
Our CrossFit Kids classes are appropriate for kids ages 4 to 12 and include a warm-up game, work on two skills, two separate workouts, and every class finishes with a game. Each class lasts approximately 45 minutes.
Reebok CrossFit 5th Ave holds CrossFit kids workouts every Saturday at 9am. Our classes are held in their own dedicated room and are fun, safe, and enriching experiences for all involved! Our coaches have over 30 years combined experience working with youth sports and athletics. Each class is taught with at least two CrossFit Kids-certified coaches. Currently, our coaches are Keka Schermerhorn and Jenn Kang.
