What Is CrossFit?
Do your friends and family know why you are Ninjas?
Other than the obvious parallels with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (we do spend a lot of time below ground, after all), we idolize ninjas because of their expertise in movement. Ninjas are known for their stealth (jumping building to building in a style to make any gymnast swoon) and mastery of tools (one could compare swordsmanship to barbell technique), all while staying calm and controlled (sounds like they’ve got some pretty good conditioning).
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be exploring CrossFit by breaking it down into its bare components:
- Functional Movement
- Olympic Weightlifting
- Conditioning (Metcons!)
